5:45-6:30 The Phantom Clause
Presentation of second case study and discussion

This engaging legal ethics CLE uses two narrative case studies—The Missing Retainer and The Phantom Clause—to explore common but serious professional responsibility pitfalls in modern legal practice. Through these investigative stories, participants will examine issues such as client communication, handling and safeguarding retainers, diligence in representation, and the ethical risks that arise from careless drafting and review of legal documents. The program highlights how small lapses in practice management and attention to detail can escalate into disciplinary complaints, offering practical lessons to help attorneys avoid similar ethical traps.

This seminar offers 1.5 ethics credits to Delaware and Pennsylvania Attorneys; 1.8 ethics credits to New Jersey Attorneys.
