Members of the Delaware State Bar Association are part of an organization that enjoy a distinguished and enviable reputation for community service, professional excellence and personal civility. This reputation has been forged through the decades by those who came before. Dues statements are mailed or emailed to members on or about May 15 each year. You may also join or renew your membership online – just click the Members Area and select Membership Dues. Payments must be postmarked by July 1 to avoid a late fee. Members receive subscription to the Bar Journal magazine, the Delaware Law Review, access to free legal research, among other member benefits.  To learn about other forms of DSBA membership, read below or click any of these links:

Sections of the DSBA

Members also are encouraged to join one or more of the Association’s twenty-nine sections at the time they pay their yearly membership dues. If members would like to join additional sections after paying membership dues, please complete and return this form.

New Admittee Membership

Each year, the Delaware State Bar Association welcomes those who have recently passed the Delaware Bar Examination. Each new admittee enjoys a free membership to the Bar Association that begins the January after being sworn in by the Delaware Supreme Court in December and ends on June 30, the end of the Bar Association fiscal year.

New admittees are encouraged to participate in sections to increase their expertise and expand professional contacts. To add/update a section membership, please complete and return this form.

Associate Membership

Attorneys who are members in good standing of the bar of another state, the District of Columbia or any territory of the United States and who are sponsored by a member of the Delaware State Bar Association may apply to become Associate Members of the Bar Association. The applications are considered by the Executive Committee. To apply for an Associate Membership, please complete and return this form.

 

Student Membership

Law students who reside in Delaware who are regularly enrolled in any law school approved the American Bar Association (“ABA”) or nonresident students who are regularly enrolled in any ABA-approved law school located in this state may apply to become Student Members of the Bar Association. The applications must be accompanied by a sponsor letter from an active member of the Association and are overseen by the Executive Committee.
