This year, in addition to the on-site, statewide service projects, the DSBA MLK Planning Committee has incorporated a virtual way for individuals to give back to the community, especially for those who would like to join us in service, but may be unable to do so with a physical presence. To that end, we have organized a “Winter Drive” to benefit a school in each of Delaware’s counties. The participating schools for the 2023 DSBA MLK Breakfast and Day of Service are: Brookside Elementary School (New Castle), East Dover Elementary School (Kent), and Frederick Douglass Elementary School (Sussex). After connecting with the schools’ respective administrators, we have identified a need for children’s clothes (specifically pants, leggings, and sweatshirts), socks and undergarments, bookbags, and miscellaneous supplies. The Amazon registry linked below is curated to address those needs. Please donate what you can and pass this along to your family, friends, and colleagues who may want to participate.
