This session will provide an overview of chapter 11 bankruptcy, including a brief history of United States bankruptcy law, an overview of the current statute (the Bankruptcy Code), and the role of various parties in a bankruptcy case and the bankruptcy estate.

10:00 am – 10:10 am: Break

10:10 am – 11:10 am: The Bankruptcy Case
This session will discuss filing a bankruptcy case, first day relief, operating and financing the business in bankruptcy, retention of professionals, chapter 5 causes of action, assumption and rejection of contracts and leases, and restructuring options, such as a section 363 sale of the entire business and plan of reorganization.

11:10 am – 11:20 am: Break

11:20 am – 12:20 pm:  Current Issues in Bankruptcy
This session will discuss current issues and hot topics in chapter 11 bankruptcy cases.

This seminar offers 3.0 credits to Delaware and Pennsylvania Attorneys; 3.6 credits to New Jersey Attorneys.
