Linking the Blocks: Combining Blockchain and Traditional Data Sources for Collections
1.0 hour CLE credit in Enhanced Ethics
DSB12172024LINKI
In this CLE, we’ll explore the ledger of user operations on blockchain networks as a key data source, focusing on how to find and interpret this data. We’ll also delve into linking more traditional off-chain data sources with on-chain activity to demonstrate how on-chain data can enhance off-chain information.
Blockchain data, by its very nature, is immutable, transparent, and permanent. Collecting and analyzing this “on-chain” data can provide information critical to internal investigations and discovery. When links between traditional “off-chain” data sources can be made to the comprehensive on-chain data, the results can be illuminating. This program will describe the intersection between on-chain and off-chain data and how links between those data sets can be established to enhance investigations and discovery.

In 2011 a Pennsylvania attorney was suspended from the practice of law for three years following a Disciplinary Board finding of misconduct, primarily in the nature of neglect and failure to discharge various ethical duties. The attorney testified he used “computer games” to relieve professional and personal stress and acknowledged that he could not practice law until he overcame his claimed addiction to “electronic recreation.”
In today’s increasingly digital world, most people own multiple electronic devices and their use and value have increased exponentially. However, similar to tobacco, alcohol or drugs, video games and screen time can become an addiction if their continued use harms a person’s health, relationships, or career. Join us for a panel discussion among members of the Delaware Council on Gambling Problems as we focus on problematic gaming and its link to certain mental health issues, including stress, depression, poor sleep or insomnia, impulsivity, anxiety, and work-related fatigue. 5.8 hours CLE credit in Enhanced Ethics
This course, which is one of the seven Fundamentals courses offered by DSBA, focuses on the important relationship between lawyers and their clients. A comprehensive curriculum looks at the decisions lawyers must make in dealing with their clients, in working within the rules of ethics, and in seeking assistance when situations become difficult. All attorneys MUST login before registering for a CLE in order to receive credits.
CANCELLATION FEE – When cancelling a live seminar, DSBA will assess a cancellation fee of $25 to defray the costs associated with registration, data entry, processing, filing, and other tasks associated with your transaction. For more information, go to https://www.dsba.org/c-l-e/
For video CLEs, generally, there is no refund once a selection to purchase is made as the video is already available for your viewing. However, in rare instances, due to an error by the purchaser, DSBA may provide a coupon for a different CLE in the value of the original purchase price less a $25 processing fee. To make such a request, please contact Reception@dsba.org
Fundamentals – Fundamentals courses are required by the CLE Commission. DSBA provides these CLEs at a significant reduction in cost. Fundamental courses will be scheduled approximately 4 times a year on a rotating basis. Remember that you may always take an online Fundamentals course as long as it is viewed within 2 years of taping. You can satisfy (if you wish) all of your Fundamentals credits by viewing all courses with online or on-demand (e-CLE) courses; however, you must adhere to the live credits rule and carry-over limits as defined by the CLE Commission.
Two Year Rule – CLE COMMISSION RULES require that YOU MUST WATCH ANY PURCHASED VIDEO WITHIN TWO YEARS OF THE DATE IT WAS FILMED. For a complete list of CLE Commission Rules, click HERE.
PENNSYLVANIA CREDITS are now available for all ONLINE CLE VIDEOS for an additional $4/credit. PLEASE NOTE: If the original purchase does not include a request for Pennsylvania credits (live or online), an additional $20/COURSE administrative fee will assessed for processing the late request. (If you purchase the PA credits at the time you register, no additional fee will be assessed.)
