Presenter:

Prince Albert III | Founder, The Culture Keepers Circle; Adjunct Professor of Law at Georgetown University Law Center

Cultural sustainability law builds legal frameworks to protect, preserve, and promote cultural heritage, traditions, and diversity for future generations, weaving those frameworks with environmental stewardship and human rights. Cultural resources (artifacts, artworks, manuscripts, historic sites, ancestral lands, and waterways) document the contributions of distinct communities to this country and supply context for the struggles those communities face today. A new wave of policies and industries have targeted these resources, removing them from public collections through sale, displacement, or outright destruction. The Cultural Sustainability Law and Practice CLE examines the challenges communities confront around cultural heritage, public art, environmental rights, and emerging technologies. Attendees will gain practical knowledge and advanced movement-lawyering skills to support these communities and safeguard their significant cultural artifacts.

This CLE is sponsored by the Multicultural Judges & Lawyers (MJL) Section of the DSBA; lunch will be provided.

This seminar offers 1.0 ethics credits to Delaware and Pennsylvania Attorneys; 1.2 ethics credits to NJ Attorneys.

Locations available are Wilmington, Live stream options in Georgetown, Dover, and Seaford.
