SUMMARY:New Data Privacy Act 2024
DESCRIPTION:Delaware is the 12th state in the nation to implement a comprehensive data privacy act to give consumers more control over their personal data. The law takes effect Jan. 1\, 2025.  Come hear from the Delaware Department of Justice about the new legislation\, including the history behind the law\, its purpose\, and how it will affect companies that conduct business in Delaware.  The panel will discuss how the DPDPA intersects with the existing framework of laws in Delaware\, including business\, contract\, and consumer protection laws\, as well as provide insights and practical guidance on developing compliance frameworks\, conducting data audits\, and implementing privacy-by-design principles within organizations.  This is a must-attend CLE program for attorneys practicing in corporate law\, privacy law\, cybersecurity\, compliance\, and related fields.
