Art Conversations 101: How to Engage with Your Clients about their Art Collections

Couple this statistic with an exploding art market, and chances are that many of your clients and prospects are actively investing, or planning to invest, in art. Are you equipped to discuss this important issue?

In this free session at the Delaware Art Museum, you will get a crash course in how to discuss art collecting with your clients and prospects. You will also learn more about the Museum’s collecting areas and get a chance to see their dazzling new exhibition Louis Comfort Tiffany: Treasures from the Driehaus Collection. Following the formal session, the Museum will be open for you to explore.

Ronald Varney spent almost 20 years in the banking and film industries before starting his art market career in Sotheby’s in 1989, where he became Senior Vice President of Business Development. In 2002 he opened Ronald Varney Fine Art Advisors (www.ronaldvarney.com), with offices in New York and Chicago. The firm advises families and individuals throughout the United States and Europe on a wide range of art-related activities, notably the sale of large and complex collections. He has published widely on the arts in Esquire, Smithsonian, The Harvard Business Review, The Hudson Review, The Wall Street Journal and many other publications. He resides in New York City and is currently a Delaware Art Museum Trustee.
