Supplemental Bar Review Program, Course Description: The purpose of the Supplemental Bar Review Program is to increase the diversity of the Delaware bar and to enhance the success of minority applicants. It is designed to provide technical assistance and support to any law school graduate who is duly registered to take the Delaware Bar Examination, and who has taken or will be enrolling in a commercial substantive bar review course. The Program does not compete with commercial bar review courses. It focuses upon the identification and teaching of bar examination essay test-taking skills. This includes mental preparation skills to enhance bar examination performance. The Program is carried out through a series of lectures, discussion groups, one-on-one interactions, coaching, intensive practice essay exams and critiques, and review of questions and answers to previous Delaware bar exams. Members of the Delaware Bar volunteer to serve as teachers, mentors and coaches. The Program focuses on time and stress management, analytic skills, writing style for the bar examination and answer structure. Student attendance and participation at each session is expected.

The Delaware Minority Job Fairs: Each year, the Delaware Minority Job Fair Committee holds two job fairs designed to increase diversity within the DSBA by recruiting women, students of color and other underrepresented groups to the practice of law in Delaware. Participants at the job fairs include law firms, corporations and governmental legal employers, who seek to hire first, second and third-year law school students. The job fair for second and third-year students is annually held in the late summer or early fall. The first-year students have a separate job fair which takes place in January of each year. Both job fairs are held on the Wilmington campus of the Widener University School of Law.

In addition to interviews, each job Fair includes a complimentary luncheon, to which members of the Bench, officers of the Delaware State Bar Association, leaders of the minority professional community, political figures and local civic leaders are invited. The students, interviewers and luncheon guests are encouraged to mingle informally both during and after lunch. The Job Fair provides a rare opportunity for law students not only to interview with a number and variety of well-respected Delaware employers, but also to learn about the practice of law in the State from the leaders of its legal community.
